James C. "Jimmy" McLinden

James "Jimmy" C. McLinden COLUMBIA - James "Jimmy" C. McLinden 62, of Columbia, SC, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on July 24th, 2014. He was surrounded by his loving family. Born August 25, 1951, in Columbia, he was a son of the late Charles and Mary McLinden. Jimmy was a loving and caring husband to his wife, Teresa "Cookie" for 44 years. He was also an amazing Daddy, Pops, Pa, brother and friend but, most importantly, he was a child of God. Jimmy is survived by his wife, Teresa; daughter, Cindy McLinden-Sweat of Columbia; son, Robert (Heather) McLinden of Chapin; three grandchildren, Nicholas Sweat, Mason and Madison McLinden; sister, Debbie Wilson (Tommy) and brother, Larry McLinden, both of Chapin; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents, Charles and Mary McLinden; his brothers, Robbie and Butch; and his sister, Joanne. A memorial service will be held Sunday, August 3rd, 2014, at 3 o'clock at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 5601 Leesburg Road, Hopkins, SC 29061. The family will receive friends after the service at the church. The family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to Katy Corley of Amedysis Hospice Care.
