I only knew the Melcher family when they were neighbors to my mom. They were probably the sweetest family I have ever met. Jim was the oldest of the eight children, believe. Really sweet kids as were the parents. I am so sorry for the loss of your brother Jimmy.

So sorry to hear of Jim's death. It brings back great memories of our friendship--playing pool, double dating, watching Bowery Boys after school and the Cardinal's licence plate tragedy!

To Judy, your children & the Melcher Family, I offer you our condolences from myself & my family. Jim was a lifetime friend. We were connected thru grade school, high school, the high school band ~ our fathers knew each other as young boys. State Farm & Art's Agency has protected me since the '70's & of course you are aware of the connection w/ Terrie, Murff & our families & friends. Only had the opportunity to see Jim, infrequently, as an adult. That was generally thru Murfff & Terrie 's parties. Here's one for you. Jim, myself & few others roamed the streets of New York City as teenagers in high school in the '60's, w/out adult supervision!! Those adventures will remain "locked in the vault"!! I could go on... Suffice it to say, "he was a character of the first degree, never a dull moment when Jim was around"!! Got to remember the goood stuff! "Our prayers moving forward to you all! John
