Dr. James Phillip Morgan DC

Dr. James Phillip Morgan DC, of Marked Tree, formerly of Memphis, departed this life Sunday morning, March 18, 2012, at his home, at the age of 70. He was born October 6, 1941 in Memphis, TN, the son of Ira Morgan and Mildred Tramble Morgan. He received his bachelor's degree from Memphis State and his doctorate in Chiropractic Medicine from Logan College in St. Louis, MO. He practiced in Memphis. TN his entire career at Morgan Chiropractic Clinic. He married Wanda McKenzie Riddle on May 8, 1987 and they enjoyed 25 years together. He was an avid collector of antiques, coins, old toys, etc. and enjoyed yards sales searching for finds. He also enjoyed Bird Watching and was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Harrisburg. He was also a veteran, having served his country in the U.S. Navy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, James Phillip Morgan, Jr. and a step daughter, Sherry Riddle Berry. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Morgan of the home; a son, David Morgan and his wife Ruby of Memphis, TN; a daughter, Dr. Jennifer Frost DC and her husband Charlie of Naples, Florida; a step-daughter, Regina Bridgewater of Harrisburg; a step-son, Michael Riddle and his wife Regan of Harrisburg; a brother, Donald Morgan and his wife Suni of Goodyear, Arizona; 11 grandchildren Drew Morgan, Chaney Morgan, Austin Morgan, Logan Morgan, Zachary Frost, Sabrina Frost, Elizabeth West and her husband Bradley, Aaron Riddle and his wife Samantha, Tyler Riddle and his wife Sarah, Makaleigh Riddle, and Jaclyn Mason and her husband Chad, and 6 great grandchildren, Guy Morgan, Kaydence West, Charlie Tribble, Cobey Riddle, Casey Riddle and Cooper Mason. Services are set for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, at the Gregg-Weston Funeral Home Chapel in Harrisburg with Rev. Leroy Franks officiating. Interment will follow in Marked Tree Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home Tuesday evening, 6:00-8:00 p.m. Grandsons, Chad Mason, Bradley West, Aaron Riddle, Tyler Riddle, Drew Morgan, Zachary Frost, and Austin Morgan will serve as pallbearers. For those wishing to send memorials, the family has requested the Alzheimer's Association or the American Heart Association.
