James Nye

Nye, James 3/17/1942 - 12/18/2022 ENGLEWOOD James R. Nye, age 80, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 18, 2022, in Janesville WI. Jim was born on March 17, 1942, in Saginaw, MI; the son of Ralph and Azalea "Peggy" (Creller) Nye. He married Diane Schaeding on March 13, 1970. Jim was the hardest working man known to many. He owned his own excavating business where he worked well into his 70's modeling and instilling a hard work ethic for his children. Jim was a master mechanic and loved car racing, especially drag racing. He enjoyed spending time at the family cabin in Houghton Lake, MI and at the family farm in Merrill, MI. Above all else, Jim was a man who loved and cherished his family. He has spent the last 40 years supporting his wife through Multiple Sclerosis. He leaves behind a legacy of love. Jim and Diane recently relocated to Janesville to be closer to their son and his family. Jim is survived by his wife, Diane; son, Brad (Karin) Nye; grandchildren: Alex, Kathryn, Lydia, and Conner Nye; sister, Sharon Volmer; and many other family friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Jamie Loose. No funeral services are planned at this time. SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY is assisting the family.
