James W. Olka, age 58, of North Tonawanda, died unexpectedly Tuesday, April 22, 2008. Born in North Tonawanda, James was a lifelong resident of the Tonawandas. He was very concerned with ecology and environmental issues and had worked on the clean-up of the Love Canal area. James was currently employed at Niagara Thermal Products. He was the son of the late Norman Olka, Sr.He is survived by two daughters, Laura Olka and Sharon Olka; a son, Timothy (Heather) Olka; his mother, Jane (nee Forsaith) Olka; three brothers, Norman (Peggy) Olka, Richard (Mary Ellen) Olka and David Olka. Also surviving are four grandsons and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Saturday only at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam and Seymour Streets, Tonawanda, where Memorial Services will be held at 8 PM Saturday.
