He was a wonderful colleague and a great family friend. When one of my daughter's entered 5th grade, I charged him with the challenge of turning her around to start loving school and, needless to say, in true Mr. Osborn fashion, he rose to the challenge and turned her around to be a true success story going on to be a teacher and a great coach . . . thank you Mr. Osborn for all the lives you have so positively touched. You will be truly missed by so many. May you rest in peace in the arms of your Lord and Savior.

I am so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. He was one of the first guys I met when I moved to Cleveland from Vermont for my senior year at Lutheran West. I was feeling pretty sad about the move, but Jim and the rest of the cross country team showed up at my door, dragged me off to practice and made me feel right at home. I'll always be grateful to Jim for helping me during that difficult transition. We became good friends at Lutheran West, and he was one of the genuinely kindest men I have ever met. I learned some life lessons from him while we were running and competing, as he never let up and always did his utmost. My heartfelt condolences!

Remembering my 6-8th grade years at St. Thomas/ Rocky River with special fondness because of the exceptional teacher we had in Mr. Osborn. He took Social Studies and Science beyond the textbook and GYM class was always a highlight of the day. As a teacher, mentor, and coach, he had the encouraging ability to instruct, inspire, and excite students to excel in both academics and athletics...a skill so few teachers possess. I/We were so very blessed to have had him as a teacher and friend. His kind heart and Christian example helped to positively effect each of us. I've reflected so often on those days with a smile. To his Family: may your hearts be lifted and filled with joy knowing that he left a positive mark on so many.

Jim was a classmate of mine from Concordia, Nebraska. We also taught in Cleveland at the same time. His smile and kind words were always present. He taught the love of Jesus in his classroom and also as he directed the athletic program at St. Thomas. Praying God to give comfort to his family.

He was my teacher in 6 grade. He taught and I actually learned something. He made religion lessons interesting ( I never knew much about God before entering his class). He was always fair and kind. One of a kind teacher. God bless Mr. O
