It is with great sadness that the family of James Thomas Outten announces his passing after a courageous battles with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
James passed away peacefully on September 9, 2017 at the age of 52 years old.
James was born on June 17, 1965 in Victoria, BC and moved to Calgary shortly after where he grew up in Bowness.
He worked in the hospitality industry where he met the love of his life Cheryl Dianne Nickel in 1985 and wed in Maple Creek Saskatchewan on January 21, 1989.
James worked in all service industries but his love for driving took him to work for Golden Arrow Busses and Cliff's Towing in Edmonton.
James' passion to be there for others showed in his volunteering as a fire fighter in Stony Plain, Alberta and to the Christian Community where he touched many people's lives for Christ.
James will be lovingly remembered by his wife Cheryl and their sons Joel (Amie) Outten and Jared Outten. He will also be forever remembered by his parents Roger and Mary (Roebuck) Outten, sister Teresa (Robert) Simpson and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A Celebration of Life for James will be held at Parkland Funeral Services on Friday, September 15, 2017 at 2pm.
Memorial donations in memory of James may be made to a Charity of One's Choice.
Arrangements under the direction of Parkland Funeral Services, Stony Plain, AB.
