On Wednesday, March 27, 2024, our beloved Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma, and Great Great Grandma, Bonnie Nay Weaver Dalton, passed away from complications of congestive heart failure at the age of 88. After having several heart surgeries throughout her life, Mom's valiant heart finally tired and stopped as she was surrounded by family who will miss her greatly.
Bonnie was born in
Willard, Utah on February 17, 1936, to Thomas Kenneth Nay and Pearl Edwards Nay where she lived all her life in one home until her marriage to Rulon Floyd Weaver on July 14, 1954. Together they had six children: Kirk Douglas (Penny), Kim Deon, Kathy Denice, Kristi DeAnn (John), Karla Dawn and Kenneth Dean. They divorced and on November 21, 1991 she married Ralph Dalton. Five adult stepchildren were then added to her family circle; James, Douglas (Evelyn), Robert, Richard (Jody) and Lynda (Andy).
Within her blended family, Bonnie had 31 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Gary, her husband Ralph, stepdaughter Lynda, son-in-law John, and 2 grandchildren, Amy and Douglas.
Growing up in a small town, Bonnie's love for sports developed. She excelled in softball and later became quite accomplished in golf. Throughout her life Bonnie's other hobbies and interests were reading, sewing, gardening, jigsaw puzzles, politics and above all, her family.
Bonnie was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving many capacities in the Primary and Young Women's programs. She was blessed with a creativity that served her well in those capacities.
Working as the accounting support in a family-owned business, and later owning her own business in research and development of public records, Bonnie was organized, and detail oriented in everything she did. But above all she felt her most important job was that of being a mom. Unlike many who reach the age of 88, Bonnie embraced nearly all computer technology available, keeping track of her ever growing family on Facebook and Instagram.
Bonnie was truly the heart of the family as she inspired all those who knew and loved her to plan ahead, take care of what's most important, and smell the roses along the way.
