James R Powell Jr

Elmira - James R. Powell Jr (Jim Grim), at age 52 passed away unexpectedly at his home in Elmira, NY in the early morning hours on Sat April 27th. Jim was born in Mount Holly, NJ and after living in NJ, and then TN; he moved to NY in 2010.

He is survived by his son; James "Victoria" Powell III of Auburn NY, his father; James R. (Pamela) Powell Sr of Winder, GA, his younger brothers; Victor W. (Vanina) Powell of Mount Holly NJ, and Stephen E. (Tammie) Powell of Burlington NC, and his life partner; Michelle Rhodes Banach of Tyrone NY.

Jim was always a little rough around the edges, but he always meant well to those he cared for. He never did have an easy time during his life, but he always made it through it all even with his son in tow. He always made the effort to enjoy his time when he could, and always tried to elevate those around him if he could. He always feared being forgotten near the end, but we do not think he'll ever leave our thoughts or our hearts.

"Jim Grim" was the name he used and as such, this Reaper's vacation has come to an end. We will all remember and miss you.

I'll turn and give you a peck on your right cheek like I always do, and tell you yet again, that I really, really like you. But here... this is the timeline where you died." -Michelle
