On January 28, 2018, Mr. Jim (James) L. Riddell passed away peacefully at the age of 92 with his family by his side. Gramp will be remembered fondly by his grandchildren: Jason (Kelty), Chad (Judy) and Nicole (Andrew), and his great-grandchildren: Taylor, Tyson, Branden, Joel, Paige, Chloe and Tate, as well as numerous other family members and friends. Jim was predeceased by his son Neil, and his wife who he called his Sweetheart, Helen. He was a proud Canadian Pacific Railroader who loved to talk about his railroad stories. Anyone who knew Jim would know how much he loved working on the railroad and that his career truly made him happy. He worked for CPR for 42 years and after retirement he ran the locomotive steam engine at Heritage Park for 12 years. As a Grandpa, Jim had a very special bond with all of his grandchildren; even more special was the relationship he had with each one of his great grandchildren. Over the years, Jim was well known as the hockey, soccer and lacrosse Grandpa. A Memorial Service will be held at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home at 24223 Township RD 242, Calgary, AB, T3Z 3K2 on Friday, February 9, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. Special Thanks to the staff at McKenzie Towne Care Center for their compassionate care of our Gramp.
