James Rintoul Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Aug. 12 to Aug. 13, 2008.
RINTOUL _ James Jacob 1987 - 2008 As a result of a tragic accident it is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved son James Jacob Rintoul on Friday, August 8, 2008. He was born on August 29, 1987 in Regina, Saskatchewan. In 1991, he moved to Calgary, Alberta with his parents and graduated from Forest Lawn High School in 2005. James also completed his first year of Petroleum Engineering in 2006. Always an ambitious young man, James worked from the time he was fourteen years old to support his love of Chevys and his high tech toys. As a boy, James' other passion was hockey. He played with "Seven Clubs" from the time he was five years old and enjoyed the team atmosphere and many road trips with his friends on the team. As he grew older he had a passion for racing his trail blazer and spending Fridays at Race City Speedway. James also enjoyed camping with his family and friends, fishing, snowboarding and water sports. He was named after two special people, his grandfathers, James Rintoul and Jacob Eberle. James will be greatly missed by his mother Leanne, his father Garnet, his sister Laura and his loving girlfriend Amanda Cormier. He will also be missed by his grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins, godparents Emiel and Florine as well as his many friends. A Celebration of James' Life will be held in the Chapel of MOUNTAIN VIEW FUNERAL HOME on Thursday, August 14, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made in James' name directly to the Canadian Cancer Society (Unit 200, 325 Manning Road N.E., Calgary, AB, T2E 2P5) or to the charity of one's choice. Those wishing to express their condolences may visit: "RIP James Rintoul" on Facebook. Arrangements entrusted to MOUNTAIN VIEW FUNERAL HOME and CEMETERY, 1605 - 100 Street S.E.(17 Avenue S.E. and Garden Road), Calgary, AB. Telephone: 403-272-5555.

On behalf of the Volunteers at Race City, our thoughts and prayers are with you all in this time of sorrow. I had the pleasure of meeting James at the track, He always had a smile on his face even if he lost the race. my son will be sadden that his favorite "race Truck" will no longer be coming out on Fridays. No matter how James did in a race he always had a smile and called my son little buddy when he would stop to get him time slip.
Rest In Peace James.
