ROBINSON, James JAMES (PIGGY) STUART ROBINSON James (Piggy) Stuart Robinson, born July 24, 1934, in Houston, Texas, passed away November 24, 2013. Jim was a 1955 graduate of Fisk University where he played on the football team and pledged Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. He worked in the family real estate business and served in the U.S. Marine Corps before earning his J.D. from the Texas Southern University School of Law in 1960. Jim was an affordable housing visionary, whose work across 15 states led to significant economic impact. Working with Dr. Martin Luther King and other leaders in Atlanta, he was instrumental in making housing a civil rights issue. He leaves to mourn his passing his son, James Robinson, Jr., daughters, Jehni Robinson (Jose Cervantes), Joi Richardson (Joe) and Jessica Stinson (McKinley, Jr.), sister, Dr. Josie Robinson Johnson, grandchildren Julia Richardson, Jee-Jee Robinson, Jasmine and Joaquin Cervantes and best friend of 62 years, Robert Mitchem, many devoted nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Atlanta services will be held on Monday, December 2, 2013 at 12:00 Noon at First Congregational Church UCC, 105 Courtland St., Atlanta, GA 30303; Willie A. Watkins Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Houston memorial service will be announced later. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to either The Patrice Y. When one has given of their life for the betterment of other it seems these are the ones that leave to soon! Life is with in the knowledge they have captured and shared. But does death end it all. There will a resurrection of the righteous as well as the unrighteous. My condolences to the Robinson family please accept this spiritual gift. So sorry for your loss. Reading about Mr. Robinson's compassion for the "have-nots" reminds me of James 1:27 which states "The worship that God wants is this: caring for orphans or widows who need help and keeping..." May God remember him for the good he did to all (James 1:13)

Isaiah 65:21,22 says that no more will an old man fail to live out his days and that when we build our homes we will be able to live in them. Think of that; no longer will man have to want for anything. I am terribly sorry for your loss, but you can rejoice in the hope of seeing your loved one again.

To this day, I recall meeting Jim in Minneapolis, Minnesota where he was a consultant to a group which was my client. When I tell law students about the need to develop confidence and command of a subject, my thoughts return to Jim. While I knew Minnesota law, he was the expert on federal housing programs. I am blessed to have known him. Condolences to the family.
