James Rorabaugh Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 20, 2025.
Jimmy passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on January 14, 2025 in Green River, Utah. He was 87 years old. Born May 14, 1937 in Iowa to William and Opal Rorabaugh. Jim had 2 brothers- Charles Rorabaugh and Roy Rorabaugh and 2 sisters- Mabel Applegate and Edna Kincaid-Ramer. He was the last surviving member of his birth family.

November 23, 1957 he married the love of his life, De Lois Stroud and they had 3 daughters, Cheryl (Fred) Zumstein, Wendy (Craig) Lechleiter and Dianne (John) Krummen. They have 4 grandchildren, Renae (Emily) Estrada, Chad (Whitney) Zumstein, Chelsea (Nick) Sylvester and Justin (Trezia) Krummen. They have 7 great grandchildren.

Jim enlisted in the US Navy in 1956 and served for 4 years active duty and 2 years reserve. Where he learned the Industrial Electrical Trade. He worked for multiple businesses at this trade. The longest being Gallo Winery in Modesto. He was very good at fixing almost anything. He learned to work on cars at his Dad's Auto Repair business in Waterford, CA. But he was able to find a solution and fix most small engines, appliances, etc. He was quite a talker and a bit ornery. I'm sure if you knew him- he gave you a hard time or played a practical joke on you. He lived life his way- very quiet for the most part.

Per his wishes, there will be no services. Just think of him fondly and remember a funny story. The family would love to read them so please go to Legacy.com and enter them.

Dynamite comes in small packages ! Dad loved all his crazy sayings, like wish one hand and something about a frog with wings! He always told us, find out what they don´t like and give them plenty of it! He was ornery but one of the best guys ever!
Miss you always Love Dianne

Jim was always ready with a big smile and made all feel welcome. He had a great personality and was so nice to be around. He was an expert on how to fix things and was always willing to help doing the repair or giving advice.
We have so many memories of happy times shared with Jim and he will be missed by all that knew him.
Our condolences to his family and friends.

Jim was a great father in law . What I remember most is sitting around his wood stove in his shop in Stevenson . He always had good ideas on how to fix cars or just about anything. He also was the smartest electrician i ever knew . Rip
