James Ryan Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 20, 2023.
James Aloysius Ryan, 78, of Plymouth Massachusetts passed away peacefully in the presence of his loving family on April 22, 2023.

Jim was born on June 25, 1944 in Jamacia Plain MA. He spent his summers in the Ellisville area of Plymouth where he eventually settled and raised his family. He enjoyed a 32 year long career with the New England Telephone/ Nynex companies.

An avid boater, he lived his life just as he named his boat- "The Good Life". He especially loved the time he spent on the water with his family listening to his tunes by the Beach Boys. He was often found at the Falmouth Yacht Club enjoying a beer with his friends and the views of one of his favorite islands, Martha's Vineyard.

He is predeceased by his beloved wife Rachael (Gunsolley) and his much-loved brother David. He is survived by his daughter Kathleen of Newport Beach CA, her husband Matthew and grandchildren Connor, Barrett and Brodey. He is also survived by his son James of Johns Creek GA, his wife Lindsay and grandchildren Chloe, Jake, Camille, and Carleigh. In addition, he leaves behind three wonderful sisters, Regina Smith of Knoxville TN, Sheila McNulty of Ellisville, MA and Bonnie Ryan Blaney of Ellisville MA, along with many nieces and nephews. Jim will be missed by all who knew him.

His life will be celebrated with a private memorial service and burial. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society at givenow.lls.org

I'm sorry for your loss and you have my condolences. The Ryan family were very pleasant, friendly neighbors. J.R. helped me get a job at Pepsi down the street in Sagamore during the summer when I was attending Mass. Maritime Academy. They had hosted many parties during the summer with great music and DJ. Thank you for being part of a great neighborhood in S. Plymouth, Massachusetts. God bless. Take care. Peace Blessings.....:)
