Linda L. Larochelle

LAROCHELLE, Linda L. - Of Traverse City, MI, formerly of Flint, MI, age 62, lost her battle with cancer and passed away October 25, 2010. Linda was born February 28, 1948, the daughter of John P Voelker and Kathleen Vollweiler (Courtney). Linda moved to Traverse City in 1988 where she pursued her artistic interests of photography, oil and arcrylic painting, and writing. A showing of her art to be in the spring of 2011 at the Traverse City Public Library. She worked for years in the field of caring for disabled adults at Carriage House and East Bay, as well as employment at Sledders, where she made many life long friends. Linda also was a loving and guiding force for hundreds of preschoolers at Central DayCare Center/Central Methodist Church. Linda always felt she was blessed to have been able to live in Traverse City of the past 22 years. Linda is survived by: son, Philip LaRochelle and wife Molly of Troy MI; daughter Dawn LaRochelle and husband Paul Palmer of Cincinnati, OH; beloved grandchildren Elizabeth and Zachary LaRochelle and Luke and Madeline Palmer; her parents; five sisters and brothers: Janet Smeltzer of Flint, MI, Phyllis Cliff of Key Largo, FL, Kathy (Jerry) Perkins of Bancroft, MI, Margaret (Guy) Patterson of Mt Morris, MI, Deborah (Wm) Halloun of Flushing, MI, Thomas (Esther) Voelker of Davison, MI, and William (Laurrie) Voelker of Clearwater, FL; many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Memorial Healthcare Hospice, Owosso, MI where donations in Linda's name will be received. A Mass will be offered in Linda's name at St Mary's Catholic Church, Mt. Morris, MI
