James Hayden Savage of Bakersfield, Vermont died unexpectedly at Northwestern Medical Center on March 14, 2006 following a brief illness. Jim was born on February 13, 1948 the son of June (Snell) Savage and the late Wendell Savage. He served in the United States Army from 1968-1970 and retired from IBM-Essex Junction in June 2002 after 32 years of service.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Rosanne (Halliday) Savage; his two children, Sean Savage and wife Jennifer (Reise) of St. Albans and Jennie Savage Kerner and husband Scott of Colchester, Vermont. He also leaves four beautiful grandchildren who were the light of his life, Zachary James and Hailey Elizabeth Savage of St. Albans and Ryan David and Dylan James Kerner of Colchester; his mother June Savage of Bakersfield and his sister Carolyn Stimpson and husband Roger of West Enosburg. His mother and father in-law Emery and Earla Halliday of Colchester; his two brothers-in-law, Larry Halliday of Bealeton, Virginia and Arvin (Butch) Halliday of Westford, Vermont; his three sisters-in-law, Brenda (Halliday) and husband Paul Smith of Bealeton, Virginia; Muriel (Halliday) Savage and Jennie (Halliday) and husband Alan Buchanan of Colchester. Jim also leaves several nieces and nephews and two special friends Bill Oswald of Richford and Tom Mangum of Plainfield. Jimmy was predeceased by his father, Wendall Savage and his two brothers, Allen Savage in 1984 and Roger Savage in 1998.

Calling hours will be from 6-9 p.m. on March 16th at Spears Funeral Home, Dickinson Avenue, Enosburg Falls. Funeral will be held on Friday, March 17th –11:00 a.m. at Spears Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the American Heart Association at 434 Hurricane Lane, Williston, Vermont 05495 or to a charity of your choice. We are so saddened by Jim's death, he was like a big brother to our oldest son, Billy. He will be missed by many - to live in the hearts we leave behind is not to die. God be with you and your family at this time.
