James H. Sedgwick, Sr., age 90 of Cleveland, OH. Loving father and husband of sixty five years of Barbara Schwab-Sedgwick (nee Bradshaw); precious father of James "Jamie" Sedgwick, Jr. of Chagrin Falls, OH and the late Cynthia Sedgwick; dear brother of Nancy Ness (Donald) of Mantoloking, NJ. Jim, a veteran of the Korean War, enjoyed a successful career in real estate. Following the murder of his daughter in 1985, he became a contact person and advocate for the organization Parents of Murdered Children for many years. Proud to be an American, Jim was a patriot, a good neighbor and made friends without effort. He would lend a hand with a smile and would often admonish with a wink "stay out of the hot sun". Jim liked fishing, sailing-was an all around athlete-from diving to football. He loved his pups and the good earth. His sweet daughter awaits him and his family and friends will cherish the countless ways he warmed our lives...every day. We love you. You took good care of us. The family prefers that those who wish may make contributions in his name to Geauga Humane Society's Rescue Village, 15463 Chillicothe Rd., Novelty, OH 44072. No services.
