WALNUT COVE — Mr. James Lee Shelton, 68, died early Saturday morning June 30, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center.
A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday July 3, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Forbis and Dick Brooke Chapel with Rev. Jim Cohn officiating. Burial will follow in the Jessup Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
A native of Rockingham County, Mr. Shelton was born on September 4, 1943 the son of Robert Lee Shelton and Minnie Gourley Shelton. He was of the Baptist faith. James was a self employed Industrial Tester for many years.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Bonnie S. Barton, three brothers Carl, Raymond and Henry Shelton.
Surviving are his wife, Linda Kay Sellars Shelton of the home, two daughters, Katherine Lynn Ortego of Katy Tx. Linda Carol Shelton, two Step sons Christopher Lee Sellars and Timothy Vaughn both of Stokesdale, one sister Gail S. Morgan of Greensboro, one brother Leonard Shelton of Walhallo SC, two grandchildren Tyler Ortego and Casey Herbert, 7 step grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Tuesday July 3, 2012 from 12 to 2 p.m. at Forbis and Dick Brooke Chapel, Stokesdale and other times at his home.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society 4-A Oak Branch Drive Greensboro, NC 27407.
