James Stalcup Obituary

James Franklin Stalcup, age 71, of Bloomington, died Monday (03/04/2019) morning at I.U. Health; Bloomington Hospital. Born January 13, 1948 in Bloomington, he was the son of Everett and Martha E. (Walker) Stalcup. James retired as a truck driver for Beasley Produce and later Troyers Produce.
James is survived by his loving family, his daughters, Martha (Jimmy Rodman) Sweat, of Bloomington and Connie (Myron) Bevers, of Panama City Beach, Florida, one sister, Caroline Shields, of Bloomington, one brother, Charles Watkins, of Morgantown, West Virginia; seven grandchildren, Samanthe Moran, Joanna Stalcup, Angel McManus, J.D. Sweat, Michael Stalcup, George Stalcup and Danielle Stalcup, five great-grandchildren and one Peanut.
James was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Marie (Vaughn) Stalcup, in 2012, one son, James Franklin Stalcup, Jr., and four sisters, Patty Quick, Elizabeth Crouch, Penny Capps and Sharon Kay Stalcup.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, Greene and Harrell Chapel; 700 W. Gourley Pike with Rick Egan officiating. Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens at 12:30 p.m. Friday. Friends may visit the family at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Friday.
The family suggests to friends who wish that memorial contributions be given to I.U. Health; Riley Children's Hospital.
