James Stepanski Obituary
Jim was born in Berwick, on May 31, 1945 the son of John and Marie Petroff Stepanski. He was a graduate of Berwick High School and Bloomsburg University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in history. Jim taught history at Northeast Bradford High School for a year and was later employed by the Ingersoll-Rand in Athens and Claverack Rural Electric in Wysox. Jim owned and operated Roman Pizza in Rome, and Only The Best Pizza Shop in Wysox until the time of his death.
Jim was a member of the Rome Borough Council for 10 years and was a member of Roman Lodge No. 418 F. & A.M. He enjoyed spending time with his grandson, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his son, James M. Stepanski Jr.; grandson, William Kerr of Standing Stone; and daughter and son-in-law, Dr. Catherine O'Neil and Dr. Chris O'Neil of Bloomsburg.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother John Stepanski and two sisters in infancy.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013 at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, 217 York Ave., Towanda, with Rev. Jason Kappanadze of the Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church, Horseheads, N.Y. officiating. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday and from 9 to 10 on Saturday at the funeral home. Roman Lodge No. 418 F. & A.M. will hold a service of remembrance at 4:45 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memories and condolences may be expressed and shared by visiting www.bowenfuneralhomes.com.

Dear Kiki and Jim,
We were so saddened to read of your dad's passing. He was ONLY the BEST PIZZA in town!! He never failed to thank us personally for our business...knowing we could have made other choices for our dinner. He would often make his signature broccoli pizza...just for me on a FRIDAY night!!!
