James Terzian Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 10, 2024.
James Scott Terzian, known to family and friends as Scott, passed away on August 9, 2024, at the age of 66, in Wichita, Kansas.

Born on March 31, 1958, in Wichita, Scott lived a life surrounded by a loving family and many life-long friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Ron and Diana Terzian, Scott is survived by his brothers Randy (Linda) and David (Stephanie) and his sister, Dana Manda (David), along with aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and many friends.

Scott loved all sports, especially Wichita State basketball, where he was a season ticket holder for many years. His work took him around the world, making new friends wherever he went. Scott was generous, smart, had a quick wit and enjoyed music, cool cars and a good debate.

A Celebration of Life will be held in honor of Scott on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at the Sedgwick County Park - Plum Shelter. Attendees should enter from 21st park entrance and follow the red/white signs. The evening will begin with Happy Hour at 5:30 PM, followed by a BBQ Dinner at 6 PM, and the celebration at 6:45 PM. Casual attire encouraged.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Starkey, 4500 W. Maple St., Wichita, Kansas 67209, in memory of James Scott Terzian. These donations will follow in his father's footsteps and continue his legacy of support and generosity within the community.

I can't count all the summers at Twin
Rivers where we held court and played basketball in 100° heat from 1:00 until about 6:00 all week long. If you were on Scott's team, chances were you were going to win....... And even when some big-name players in the city would show up Scott would more than hold his own. I also happen to grow up down the street from Scott and can remember from a young age being down at their end of Columbine or on our end playing whatever sports were in season and just having some golden days growing up. He and his brother Randy were great friends. I think of him often, especially during basketball season, and somehow wish time would stop or we could turn the clock back and enjoy those magical days once more.
