James Warren Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 22, 2025.

James M. Warren (Jim) passed away on January 3, 2025. He was born September 7, 1933 in Des Moines, Iowa to Harry and Pauline Warren. The family moved to Tucson in 1947 when Jim was in the 8th grade. In Tucson he attended Mansfield Junior High and Tucson High School. His college years were at Stanford, U of A and Thunderbird Foreign Trade School where he received an MIM degree. He pledged to the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity while at Stanford. After graduation he spent 2 years in the US Army and married Deborah Maxey. Their daughter was born in Germany.

During the 60's he farmed with his brother in Peru. In 1971 also with his brother they opened a travel agency in Tucson. He remained in the travel business until retirement. He was a member of the Tucson Country Club (a director for 5 years), a member of the Breakfast Club of Tucson (President, 1977) and President of the Hacienda Del Sol subdivision development. His favorite sports were golf, tennis and hiking. Jim was state high school golf champion in 1950.

He was predeceased by wives Deborah Maxey, Patricia Murphy, and Bonnie Walker (to whom he was married for 50 years). He is survived by his daughter and life long buddy, Holly, with whom he lived for the past 5 years of his life, son Scott C Warren, his beloved brothers' wife Diana and their family, grandson Bijan (Sarah), granddaughter Layla Hrzina (James), 3 grand children, Ari River, Lili Moon, and Olivia James.

He valued the people in his life deeply. He was devoted to his family and to his friendships. He was a man of adventure, a lover of travel, and a planner of unforgettable journeys. He taught us to cherish our relationships, to find joy in the little things, and to never stop seeking the road ahead. Jim's spirit lives on in our hearts and in the stories we share. We all love you Daddy....always and forever.
