James Wheeler Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 23, 2025.
Mark Wheeler, 65, passed away on July 22, 2025, after a hard battle with cancer.

Born in Detroit, Michigan, to Hubert Orville Wheeler and Margaret Mary Wheeler. Mark spent most of his adult life in Michigan, where he worked as a printer and approached every print run with care for over three decades. He was known for his humor and fixing just about anything. Mark's greatest joys in life were golfing, a poker night with friends, sitting outside on his porch, and watching cartoons and movies with his children.

Mark is survived by his four children-Brad (Jamie) Wheeler, Mellisa (James) Edwards, Alisha Fava, Jodie (Truth) Gearhart; and three grandchildren- Camilla Wheeler, Vincenzo Fava and Elizabeth Edwards. He also leaves behind his brother, Louis Wheeler, along with many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Richard Wheeler, and his sisters Judith Wheeler and Mary (Robert) Prebus.

Mark chose to donate his body to Wayne State University for medical research. His final gift will help train the next generation of doctors and contribute to advances in healthcare.

Mark, thanks for being an awesome neighbor that was always willing to help when we needed an extra hand and thanks for cracking some good jokes too. I´m going to miss our "family" holidays with you, and the way you and Sonic used to bark and howl together in the backyard. I´ll especially miss seeing you out on the porch everyday when I go to get the mail. I´m going to miss our complaining sessions about the Lions. Who am I going to complain to now? :) You were very kind to us. I´ll miss you buddy. - Gretchen

My sincerest condolences to all of Mark's family and close friends. I came to know Mark only a couple of years ago. We had a common interest in golf and I'm glad I had the opportunity to share an afternoon with him on the golf course last October. He was a super nice guy and outwardly friendly. He'll be missed but never forgotten.
