Jamie Keith "Mac" McDonald

Jamie Keith Mc Donald, 81, passed away peacefully at his home in the Ben Lomond, CA Redwoods on May 11th, 2024.
He was born on April 14, 1943 in Hollywood, CA. Jamie is survived by his loving sister, Marti Jones, his two daughters, Julie Lynn McDonald, and Jaime Gwen McDonald, his son Michael Briggs McDonald, his grandson Gavin James McEwen, and last but not least, his loyal and loving dog, BiBi. He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Donna Jean McDonald, and his loving wife of 31 years, Linda P. Crouse.
As a young boy, Jamie traveled overseas with his family to far off lands in North Africa. Jamie had many early life experiences that enriched his life in creative ways. He had an insatiable interest in nostalgia, music, cars, and collectibles. Jamie could be found setting up a diorama of American graffiti and a scale model train set around the Christmas tree. Some who saw him set up his collection (even into his older years) for the holidays would say they could see the youth and enjoyment it brought him. He also shared a passion for health and wellness. He and Linda inspired many to live a healthy life with quality ingredients and exercise.
Jamie loved his animals, from Mexican red legged tarantulas to birds, snakes, and family pets such as dogs and cats. He was also known for his attention to detail with his large freshwater aquariums. Many people and businesses in Santa Cruz County benefited from the gifts of new fish babies that his quality care of the aquariums produced.
As in all things that Jamie applied himself, Mac as he was known at work, was recognized for his kindness and attention to details. Jamie inspired those around him with the love and attention he gave to his family, his work, and to his local community.
This bright, artistic, and loving man will be missed. His last wishes were to be placed with Donna Jean McDonald and Linda Crouse in the Santa Cruz mountains. A public celebration of life has yet to be scheduled.
