JANA POMPEANI Obituary
Jana (Thomas) Pompeani, 48, of Hopewell Twp, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, April 25, 2010 in Heritage Valley, Sewickely. Born September 13, 1961 in Aliquippa, she is the daughter of Norma (Colonna) Thomas of Aliquippa and the late Matthew V. Thomas. Jana graduated form Aliquippa High School and the University of Pittsburgh. She earned her Masters Degree in Pyschology from Edinboro University. During her career, she worked as a social worker for the Beaver County Housing Authority, as a mental health technician in the LTSR Unit at Friendship Ridge. Jana was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Hopewell Twp and it's Confraternity of Christian Mother's. Jana had a gentle smile, a soft touch and a warm and compassionate heart and she found happiness in life's simple pleasures. She dedciated her life to helping those who were less fortunate. But Jana found the greatest joy in her role as a loving mother to her three adoring sons, Brock, Brandon and Brett, and as the beloved wife to her husband of nearly 24 years, Bruce, with whom she shared an endless love. In addition to her mother, husband and 3 sons, she is survived by her brother Matthew Thomas-Moon Twp, her father-in-law Pat Pompeani- Hopewell Twp, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bob and Lisa Pompeani- Robinson Twp, 2 nieces Chelsea and her goddaughter Celina, her very speical aunt JoAnn (Bernie) Juth- Hopewell Twp, 2 uncles Ed Colonna-Aliquippa, Nick (Kathy) Thomas-Chippewa, and many other loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her mother-in-law Virginia Pompeani. Friends will be received Tuesday and Weds form 4-8 in TATALOVICH FH AND CS, INC. 2205 McMinn St Aliquippa PA 15001. Family and friends are asked to meet Thursday at 10am in Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Hopewell Twp, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrate by Fr. Howard Campbell, Jana's pastor. Jana's sudden passing has left a huge void in the lives of all those whom she touched. But words cannot possibly express the enormous loss to her devoted family who depended on her for strength, guidance and love.

Bruce and Boys: Our hearts go out to all of you. Jana was a great person, and a very loving mother. She had a kind heart and a warm smile. I know she will be looking down on her handsome boys forever. Look up boys when you need advice and talk to your mom. She will help guide you through difficult times. This deep wound shall heal in time, till then, remember the great times and the love of a mom that was taken to soon!

Bruce, Brock, Brandon and Brett: There aren't words big or meaningful enough as to how much Jana meant to me. We were so proud of the fact that we shared the same birthday and that Brett and Anthony did as well. There wasn't a secret I couldn't share with her. She was beautiful from head to toe. She loved her family with all her heart and soul. Jana thanks so much for the many happy memories and being my best friend for so many years. I love you all dearly and know I will be there for you always.

We cannot express in words how much Aunt Jana meant to us. She was truly a beautiful person inside and out and we were so lucky to call her our aunt. Since she was surrounded by boys, we felt like the daughters she never had. Although Jana was not in my everyday life, she was always in my thoughts, my mind, and certainly in my heart. There is so much about Jana that I am going to miss, but above all else, I am going to miss her laughter.
