Janalea Jean Jeppson

Jana passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 after complications from an outpatient CT scan.

She was born August 22, 1963 in Salt Lake City, Utah to El Rey James and Barbara Jean (Lea) Jeppson.

Jana was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Those that knew her recognized her deep love for her Savior and Father in Heaven.

She is survived by her mother Barbara Christiansen. Sisters: Kayleen (James), Rebecca, Noraleen, and Ruth. Brothers: Jerry (Lisa), ElRey (Mindi) and Jacob. 23 nieces and nephews and 15 grand nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her brothers: Bryan and Leon. Her grandparents: Lloyd and Margaret Lea, Her father: El Rey James Jeppson, Stepfather: Sherman Christensen, Stepmother: Kathy Jeppson, a niece and a nephew.

Jana worked at the Church Office Building in the mail room. Where she had incredible experiences with some Church leaders. She also worked many years as a medical credentialist.

Jana was a friend to everyone. She had a wide reach and made connections easily because of her amazing sense of humor and sparkling personality that she shared freely with all. Jana was a delight to everyone, blessed with an incredible memory for people, places and numbers.

She had a talent for writing stories, poetry, and songs. She wrote plays and skits for church and community activities. She loved making cards and was very gifted in that area. Some of which she sold, but most often simply shared them with people she loved and cared for in her life as it brought her so much joy.

Services will be held at 4 o'clock in the afternoon on Sunday August 25, 2024 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints located at 3676 W 4700 S Taylorsville, Utah. There will be a short gathering after the service for those who would like to celebrate Jana with us.

It´s a very small world! After my dear friend Jana´s funeral I was stopped by a surprise old Qwest friend! Heather Case - Passey! I can´t believe she remembered me!!! (I think I look very different but, I guess I am still me!). She knew Jana through a friend and Jana had crafted some Winnie the Pooh cards for her that she cherishes. Jana sure made an impact on this world! I miss her already!

We love you Jana Jeppson. We will miss you, my children will miss your letters. It was difficult in the beginning when we moved to Sweden and you helped my children cope when you sent them letters. I am forever grateful for you.

Today's blessing: Yesterday was a long day for us. It was bittersweet. The family had a memorial service for Jana yesterday. Jerry was a bit hesitant to attend. He hadn't seen some his siblings in years. Everyone of them offered him grace, and welcomed me. One of the sisters even said, "your the infamous Lisa." Well, I hope I'm not famous for doing something wicked or abominable.
I do know that Jana touched so many lives for the good, she loved her Father in Heaven, and made the most of what she was given. Fly high angel, until we meet at Jesus feet.

Truely a person who could bring a smile to your face and then tears flowing from laughter. Very kind and generous heart! Loved her being around for there was never a dull moment when jana was around. Very spiritual in many ways. Down to earth, she made the young adult ward very fun in different ways we all loved her very much and sad that she isn´t here but seeing those who have gone before us they are welcoming her home. We love you and cherish your memories

She always made me laugh with her great sense of humor. I remember the times we got together at aunt Kathy's and Uncle Jim's. We played and stayed over. She truly had very special Spirit about her. She always remained strong in the Gospel. She gave me strength and enduring hope, and when I was around her it created a sense of peace and love whenever I needed it. We love you, and we will see you again.

Jana was such a wonderful woman. She was Procepter Gamma´s Secret Sister Keeper. She was such an amazing person. She helped to keep our Sorority sisters on track as far as purchasing gifts for their secret sisters for the past two years. We as sorority sisters loved her. I got the chance to really get to know her this past December. We as sorority sisters wanted to honor her for all she had done for us at Christmas. We met with her and visited for about 2 hours. She was in awe of all the Christmas gifts given to her, and so grateful and thankful for them. Our Sorority will deeply miss her, and want others to know we are better sisters for having known her.

We haven't had a close relationship with Jana but remember her as a youth. We would gather at grandma Lloyd's house for our annual 4th of July celebration and always had a grand time with the Aunts uncles and cousins. We always knew of Jana's sweet, caring, and talented ways. Our sincere sympathy and hearfelt condolences to her family and loved ones. We are unable to attend the services but you all will be in our thoughts and prayers. God bless

Jana is going to be sorely missed. She had a string spiritual connection with Heavenly Father and leaned heavily upon him in her many trials - especially in the last few years. I met her in sorority and we hit it off right away! She had a lightning speed wit and a talent for storytelling. We even discovered that we had dated the same guy in our youth! She was ALWAYS so giving and thoughtful. She often sent her beautiful handmade cards for special occasions and sometimes "just because". She would give me gifts when I knew she had little money to purchase anything. She was a truly wonderful woman and I will always cherish the time I spent with her. I´m sure your loved ones in heaven celebrated your arrival. You have been blessed for your patience and suffering. Of all the things I will miss about Jana I will miss her laugh. Fly high my friend.

I met Jana ( we never called her Janalea) our freshman year at East High School); her and sister, Kayleen . Jana was so funny! I admired her ability to focus on what was most important to her and keep things in perspective. We had creative writing together. She sat in back of me. I thought I could write well, but we would share what we had written for assignments, and I was dumbfounded at her ability to write. Words flowed from her pencil like water from a fountain. And oh how she could make our circle of friends laugh! She said exactly what was on her mind and it was often funny. She reminded me of the actress Angela Lansbury, and that is one of the highest compliments I could give. Neither Jana nor Angela were fake, phony people. Jana, I´m sorry for the times I wasn´t very nice. You might not have even noticed, but there were times when my actions weren´t very charitable. I will miss exchanging Christmas cards every year. I still have all of them, and I even have the one I was going to send you this year. I know you were in a great deal of pain. I also know you are basking in the presence of our Heavenly Father and our Savior, Jesus Christ. All your wildest dreams and the hopes you had will soon be fulfilled. Your absence leaves a noticeable hole in my heart. If I never said it, I say it now. I love you. Rest now, free of pain.

One of Jana's favorite titles was "Aunt". She loved her nieces and nephews with all of her heart! She was Aunt to more than just her family. She loved nothing more than to be shopping somewhere and hear a happy, "Hi, Aunt Jana" and turn around to find one of my nieces or nephews (on my husbands side) waving to her. She loved them as well.

Just a memory, Kayleen

Jana sent me a beautiful card after some very difficult days. She always made me smile and laugh! What a gift she had to always pour sunshine on others even when she was facing difficult things herself

She was my very first nanny who welcomed me home from the hospital , and I am 36 now, but she's always made cards my whole life for special holidays - she had a true talent and knack for bringing light, happiness and joy into other lives, including my own.

Jana was my very first nanny that was there to welcome me home from the hospital in Connecticut - so I could technically say that would be my "first" memory of her too.
