Jane Roenke Obituary
There will be no prior calling hours. A Memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Buffalo.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Jane's memory to End of The Road Horse Rescue, P.O. Box 501, Silver City, New Mexico 88062.
Jane was born on April 24, 1922 in Buffalo, N.Y., the daughter of the late E. Granger and Marion Knight Wilson. Jane moved with her family to Geneva, N.Y. in 1926. She attended the Park School in Buffalo and graduated from Geneva High School in 1940. After high school Jane was very involved with the Red Cross and USO. She worked as a medical secretary for many years and served as the Executive Secretary for the Community Chest (United Way) before retiring. Jane moved to Ormond Beach Florida in 1980 and enjoyed 29 wonderful years before moving to Clifton Springs, N.Y.
She is survived by her daughter, Dianne (Gene) Murphy of Hanover, New Mexico; her grandchildren, William (Monica) Akens III of Flagstaff, Ariz., Cedra J. Murphy of Geneva and Jesse G. Murphy of Geneva; three great-grandchildren, Willie G. and Ruby Akens of Flagstaff, Ariz. and D'Andre L. Murphy of Geneva. Jane leaves several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husbands, William Winfield Whiting and Richard P. Roenke and her sister Molly W. Carson and brother, E. Granger Wilson Jr.

Diny, as mentioned in a previous email, so sorry to hear of your loss. As with life, so is death and we know she has gone to a much better and peaceful place. It has been over 60 years since I last saw your Mom but believe it or not I still remember both your Dad and your Mom as I was waiting on them at Belhurst.

Diny, I can't tell you how much joy your Mother brought into our familiy's life. She was my second Mom and I loved her dearly. She lived a great life and was always so upbeat and greatful for her family. I'm sending love and sympathy from my Mom, Connie Marvin and my brother and sisters family too. We all loved her and every time I see Tom Sellak I think of her! Love to you all and know she is in a place where she can read walk and enjoy her life now. God is watching over her and I truellyl believe that! God bless you all and thank you so much for letting me know! She will forever be a part of my life!

I was blessed enough to have taken care of Janie in the later years of her life, and truly enjoyed every moment I spent with her. She loved her family and the life she experienced over her many years. I will miss her terribly and think of her often. My heartfelt condolences for the loss of this fabulous woman. How saddened I was to learn of your Mom's passing. I will never forget the many, many kindnesses your Mom and Dad showed toward me as we were growing up. I often think of those times and hold them as some of my fondest memories. I remember, when talking to your Mom and looking into her beautiful eyes, you would feel like the most important person in the world! You were blessed with wonderful parents!
