Jane Tecza Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 20, 2024.
Jane Frances Tecza (nee Wagner), age 75, passed away on February 16, 2024, surrounded with love and prayers of her family at Nathan Adelson Hospice in Las Vegas, Nevada.

She was born September 4, 1948 in Watertown, Wisconsin to Rudolph and Margaret Wagner.

Jane grew up in Oconomowoc with her 7 siblings, Bill, Jim, Ann, Cathy, Jerry, Dan, and Mary. She attended St. Jerome Grammar School and Pius High School. She attended DePaul of the South where she studied business. She later studied at the Gemological Institute of America where she became the youngest female gemologist in the country at the time.

She went to assist her father with his Jewelry business, Wagner's Jewelers, directly after graduation. Jane loved interacting with customers and was known as a fair and honest business woman. Despite her sweet exterior, she was tough and could hold her ground at her store. One time, a man came into her store and swallowed a diamond, that she had for sale, and she tackled him to the ground until the police came.

Fate came calling when she was out with her friend and met the love of her life, Bruce Tecza who was on a business trip. They were united in marriage on October 11, 1986 in Saint Jerome's Catholic church in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. Combining their shared love of business and one another, Jane and Bruce managed two locations of Wagner's Jewelers in both Oconomowoc and Watertown, Wisconsin.

Jane served as President of Ladies Auxiliary of Watertown Country Club. Jane worked hard but also played hard. She enjoyed spending time golfing, going out with friends, and trips with friends. Her favorite vacation destinations included Mexico and Belgium.

Jane retired in 2006 and moved to Las Vegas. She was involved in several other businesses in Las Vegas. She truly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Bruce; Step-daughter, Carolyn (Christopher) Potts of North Aurora, Illinois, and grandchildren: Emma and Matthew Conley and Ethan Potts; siblings Bill Wagner of Arlington, Virginia, Jim Wagner of Tucson, Arizona, Cathy Wagner (Ted Bonner) of New Berlin, Wisconsin, Jerry Wagner of Arlington, Virginia, Dan (Lisa) Wagner of Arlington, Virginia, and Mary (Dan) Byrns of Kewaskum, Wisconsin; as well as many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends and her beloved Chihuahua dog, Tinkerbell.
