JANET DENTON Obituary
Janet Trunick Denton, 77, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2015, wielding her endless positive attitude to wage war against a disease that ultimately won. She was surrounded by family and friends who loved her in her final days.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Ruth Trunick, and her husband, George Denton. She is survived by her sister, Joanne McMaster (Don); daughter Lisa Wong (Justin), son Lyle Scott Denton (Lori); 7 grandchildren: Laura, Anna, Adam, Joel, Ben, John and Michael; 8 great-grandchildren: Sequoia, Reeve, Skyla, Tyler, Layla, Joseph, Grace and Ezra; nephews Terry, Chris, Darren, Jeffrey, David and Doug; and niece Karen.
Janet was born on 2-22-38 to Frank and Ruth Trunick, in Ventura, Calif. She grew up in Altadena, Calif., and attended UCLA before starting work and retiring from Mobil Oil Company, working in the marketing division for the president of the Western Division. She took an early retirement after the Los Angeles office was closed and enjoyed over 29 years as a retiree, moving to Green Valley in 1990.
She spent her busy retirement years working tirelessly with the Aquabelles synchronized swimming club in Green Valley, serving as president, director, and in other capacities through the years. Swearing each year would be her last, she spent 24 years with them and wanted so badly to make it to her "real" last one, her 25th year, which will also be the Aquabelles 50th. She enjoyed all of her dear friends from this organization. She also was an avid golfer and the friends that she made were all so special to her.
Janet was known for her extremely positive attitude, kindness, integrity, and hard work. She was a great friend. She was a wonderful mother, and a non-traditional crazy grandmother. She was adored and will be missed by all.
A special thanks to Assurance hospice and the caring team at Silver Springs for their empathy and caring during her final weeks.
She has requested that any donations be made to Green Valley charities, especially Friends In Deed and The Animal League of Green Valley.
Services will be held at Green Valley Mortuary on Saturday, March 14, 11 a.m.

It is with a heavy heart that we have read that dear Jan has passed. Our sincerest condolences to her family and friends. Jan was such a lovely and positive person. A great loss to the world. We had hoped to see her following her move from her home but due to illness we were unable to get to Green Valley for a visit or to her funeral. Our thoughts are with you all.
