Mrs. Janet Elizabeth Gant age 70 of Southport, NC formerly of Potomac Maryland died Sunday June 10, 2012.
Mrs. Gant was born in Flint, Michigan on February 19, 1942 and was the daughter of the late Wilbur and Marion Calber Coppel. Janet was an avid golfer and enjoyed tennis and a bridge player.
She is survived by her husband, Bob Gant; three children, Meg Burke and husband Tommie of Siler City, NC, Rob Gant and wife Heidi of Boyds, Maryland and Will Gant and wife Katy of Frederick, Maryland; grandchildren, Elizabeth and Emily Burke, Michael and Emma Gant, Jack, Billy, Erin Gant; brother, Bill Coppel of Fenton, Michigan.
A celebration of life service will be held Wednesday June 13, 2012 at 4:30pm at the chapel of Peacock-Newnam & White Funeral Service, 1411 N. Howe St., Southport.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday afternoon from 3:00 until 4:30 prior to the service.
The family request those attending to please dress golf casual.
Contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
