Janet Giovacchini Obituary

Published by Contra Costa Times on May 12, 2013.
Janet Carol Giovacchini
Oct.30, 1936-May 7, 2013
Resident of Alamo
Janet died peacefully at home after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease. Born to Alma and Edward Murchio, Janet was a lifelong resident of the Bay Area. Born and raised in Oakland, she was a graduate of Holy Names High School. After marrying her high school sweetheart Paul, she became a dedicated wife and mother. Raising her family in Alamo she was an active PTA member and school volunteer. She loved crafting, old movies, trips to play the slot machines in Reno, and above all else spending time with her family and friends. Her kind nature and generous spirit will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 56 years Paul, daughter Victoria (Gordon) Fischer and son Steven (Monica) Giovacchini. She was a wonderful Nonnie to her five grandchildren, Rachel, Jaime, William, Courtney and John, and will forever hold a special place in their hearts.
The family would like to thank Megan Ratto, Emalata Tasini, and the staff of Hospice of the East Bay for their loving care. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Janet's life at a Memorial Mass on Friday May 17th at 10:30am at St. Isidore's Catholic Church in Danville. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Janet's name to Hospice of the East Bay.

I will always have fond memories of my cousin Janet. I always looked forward to visiting Paul and Janet as a child with my Mom, Dad, and brother.
I know that she is in a better place and that will comfort me as I lovingly remember her.

Our love always to the family.
