Janet Goodrich, 69, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away from a rare cancer on April 2, 2013. She was so excited to see Jesus and be reunited with her loved ones. She married her life partner, Kendall Goodrich of 49 years. She earned her property management degree from the Institute of Real Estate Management in Illinois. Over a 42 year career as a commercial real estate broker, Janet was recognized with various awards for her accomplishments. She was known for her character, positive attitude and great inner strength. She was an inspiration to family and friends and touched many lives. She loved doing crafts and transforming throw-away items into creative treasures. She and Ken's house and cabin are filled with these creations and remind everyone of her quiet presence. She enjoyed sharing crafts with her grandchildren so that others can enjoy their creations for years to come. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister. She leaves a treasury of memories with her husband; two daughters, Michelle Bartee (Scott), Littleton, Colorado and Katrina Watson (Val), Colorado Springs; six precious grandchildren, Brittany Goodrich who is a junior at UNC, Savannah, Christian, Mitchell, Nicholas and Ava Watson of Colorado Springs; three brothers: Loren Hiatt (Judy), Omaha, Nebraska, Jerry Hiatt (Diane), Council Bluffs, Iowa and Dean Hiatt, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Hi Nana, it's been 9 years this month since I last saw you. So much has happened in my life since you last saw me. I am turning 19 in 4 months, I graduated with my associates degree, got my black belt and have grown into my adulthood. I have missed you so much over this Easter weekend and I am filled with so many happy memories I have with you. I know you have been able to see how much I have grown as a person over the years and I hope you are proud. I love you very much Nana.

I am going to copy a part of a letter Janet wrote Pat on March 22, 2012:(I am only strong in God's strength. Without this overwhelming peace
that He has given Kendall and me, I don't know where I would be. I
feel his presence daily and draw from that. I don't know how people
do this without Him.) Janet remained our dearest friend from childhood through our adult life. The holidays and trips we shared with Janet & Kendall are priceless. The long telephone conversations Pat and Janet would have will now leave an empty spot in Pats heart.Janet was closer to me than a sister she will always be so much more, we love her, and Kendall is a close brother to me. We will stay in contact till we go home to be with the Lord.
Janet we are conforted to know you are with our Lord.
Love,
Al & Pat Farr

Kendall, Katrina and family, You are in my prayers. I have such wonderful childhood memories of our families at holidays and our crazy camping trips. Janet was such a kind spirit. It was such a pleasure to have had her in my life. I am so happy that she is with Jesus, dancing and singing and feeling no pain. Love you all, you are in my prayers.

Sis, you will be missed. The call we received was difficult even though we were expecting it. Your faith has sustained you during your two year plus battle with cancer. But today I can say, without a doubt, the battle is over, the victory is yours as you celebrate with family and other loved ones who preceded you. I know I will join you there one day. Kendall and family, you are all in our thoughts and prayers at this time.
