Janet Marie Marsh

Janet Marie (Moore) Marsh (92) of Waverly, Ohio, passed away peacefully at Traditions in Bristol Village on Friday, September 29, 2023, with her daughters by her side. She was born April 30, 1931, in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Arnold and Gladys (Smalley) Moore. On August 4th, 1956, she married Oscar Marsh who preceded her in death.

Janet was a very loving and caring woman. She lived her life to the fullest and family and her faith meant everything to her. Her smile filled every room she entered, and she was a dear friend to many. From a young girl she loved going to church and was a member of the United Church of Christ in Portsmouth, Ohio until she married Oscar and joined The First Presbyterian Church. She and Oscar were proud and active members of the Presbyterian Church in every city that they lived (Jackson, Athens and Waverly, Ohio). Throughout her life Janet sang in the church choir and enjoyed singing in several other vocal groups as well as playing the piano. She was involved in Circle, Bible Study and volunteered at the Church reading to shut-ins, driving members to doctor visits and just visiting those in need. She was a member of PEO in Athens, Ohio. She enjoyed sports, especially the Ohio University Bobcats where she worked in the Athletic Department for many years, and The Ohio State Buckeyes. She will be dearly missed by everyone she loved.

She was also preceded in death by her Grandson, Ian Trent Taylor.

She is survived by: her children, Diane McNamara of Stevensville, Michigan, Mary Taylor (Todd) of Orlando, FL.; 3 grandchildren, Meghan McNamara (David Sandmann) of Cincinnati, Ohio, Lauren Munno (Joe) of Arlington Heights, Illinois and Sean Tanner Taylor (Kesia) of Birmingham, AL; Great-grandchildren Caroline Munno, Chloe Taylor and Madelyn Munno; Several dear nieces and nephews and many beloved cousins and friends.

Janet donated her body to the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine supporting medical education and research and will be cremated.

A celebration of Life will be held on, September 7, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the West Chester Presbyterian Church, 8930 Cincinnati Dayton Road, West Chester Township, Ohio 45069.
