Janet Vaill Maus Janet Vaill Maus, 85, of Woodland Drive, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on April 10, 2013, at the home of her daughter, Karen Bouchard, in North Canaan, CT. Janet was the daughter of Benjamin Franklin and Marjorie Baldwin Vaill of Lakeville, CT. Janet was born November 18, 1927 in Sharon, CT. She grew up on the family farm in Lakeville, CT, and was the youngest member of the first graduating class of Housatonic Valley Regional High School. She attended Lasalle College in Newton, MA and on a vacation to Florida she met, fell in love, and married Paul Maus of Sarasota, FL. After returning to Lakeville, CT, she worked as a bookkeeper at the family business of Lime Rock Sand and Gravel, the Babbitt Corporation, Robinson Leech Real Estate, and retired as the bookkeeper for the Town of Salisbury. She was a life-long member of the DAR, and an active member of the United Methodist Church of Lakeville, where she sang in the choir. She was an avid gardener, contributing produce to the local food shelf. Every fall, she and Paul loved traveling to the Outer Banks to surf fish, and they enjoyed winters at their home in Texas. Janet is survived by her children, Steven and his wife Cindy, Kevin and his wife Dawn, both of Cedar Creek, Texas, Karen Bouchard and her husband Steve of North Canaan, CT and Lisa Paganelli and her fiance Rich Jones of West Newbury, VT, twelve grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at the United Methodist Church in Lakeville, CT at 11:00 am, Monday, April 15, 2013, with a reception to follow. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salisbury VNA, 30A Salmon Kill Rd, Salisbury, CT 06068. Kenny Funeral Homes of Sharon is taking care of the arrangements
