Janet Doris McCreary, nee Nealy, peacefully passed away on January 26, 2024, at the age of 91 in Ocoee, Florida. She was born on July 29, 1932, in Daytona Beach, Florida. Janet will be deeply missed by her loved ones and remembered for her kind heart and fiery spirit.

Janet was a 1950 graduate of Industrial High School in West Palm Beach and further pursued her education at North Carolina A&T College (now University) in Greensboro.

Janet is survived by her daughter Nancy McCreary of Atlanta, Georgia; Lieutenant Colonel (RET) Randy (Teresa) McCreary of Ocoee; stepdaughters Norma "Jeanette" McCreary Harrell Yeary of Roxbury, Massachusetts, and Laconia "Connie" (Leroy) McCreary Rogers of Houston; daughter-in-law Carolyn (Roderick) Hagemann McCreary of Ann Arbor, Michigan; and grandchildren Felicia and Jordan McCreary of Ocoee; Robert (Bonita) Harrell of Sydney, Australia; Stephen (Jennifer) Harrell of Roxbury; Kaicee Rogers, Jaime Rogers, and Kelli Rogers of Houston; Natosha DiBella and Pearl Schultz of Detroit; Carissa Welton of Ann Arbor; nephew Robert (Nancy) McCreary of Boston; niece Lamurel King of Roxbury; devoted cousins Joan Bryant and Thomas Young of West Palm Beach; Yvonne (Henderson) Smith, Eric Smith, Barry Smith, and Linda Forney of Freeport, Bahamas; Victoria (Michael) Shadd-Sutton of Boynton Beach; Marlon Shadd, Rosell Ealy, Arlitia Young, and Leonard (Victoria) Harper of West Palm Beach; and Denise Frazier and Tony Bryant of Jacksonville.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Susan McCreary Platt, husband Robert McCreary, mother Altamese Perkins, father Arthur Nealy, stepson Roderick McCreary, step-granddaughter Stephanie Harrell, aunts Irene Perkins, Leontine Thomas, Willie "Sing" Powell, and Caretha Perkins, and cousins Eloise Bryant, Claudine Thomas, Logan "Sonny" Bryant, Marian Bryant, Julia Bryant, Debra Smith, Zepherlee Young, Edwin Keith Bryant, Sheree Bryant, Claudine Bryant, and Janette Bryant.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Woodlawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, Florida 34734; (407) 293-1361. Viewing be on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at 1 p.m., followed by services at 2 p.m. and onsite internment.
