Janet Swinton Powell

Janet S. Powell, 75, of Key West, Florida, passed peacefully from this life on August 5, 2018 in Longwood, Florida. Janet was born on July 17, 1943 in Rochester, New York to Victor and Leah Swinton. Janet grew up in Rochester, New York and relocated to Key West in 1974. The Family owned and operated JP of The Keys, Boog Powell's Anglers Marina and Janet also sold real estate. She loved diving, fishing and collecting local art work. Left to cherish Janet's memory are her beloved husband of 56 years, John "Boog" Powell, Sr., her loving children; John "JW" Powell, Jr. (Colleen) and Jennifer P. Smith and her 5 precious grandchildren. She is also survived by Richard and Bonnie Powell Renae Powell and her lifelong personal friends. Janet was preceded in death by her daughter, Jill Powell. The family and friends will gather to celebrate her life at a later date.
