Mrs. Alexander was the best teacher I had during my high school years at St. Elmo High school. She was my mentor, and my confidant. She inspired me with courage to speak in front of a group and the spirit to reach for the stars.
Our condolences to the family.

When I learned of the death of Mrs. Janetta Hiicks-Alexander, I was heartbroken. I felt as if I had lost a good friend. Mrs. Alexander played an integral role in my high school career at St. Elmo High School. She had a kindness about her that made everyone who came in contact with her feel special. She made her English classes fun and interesting. Her quiet, sweet spirit made it easy to talk to her about anything that concerned you. She listened with an interesting ear and she gave advice that would last a life time. Her smile would light up a dark room and her laughter would dispel your doom and gloom. I will always cherish my memories of Mrs. Alexander. I am praying that you will find comfort in the precious memories that you have of her. I extend my heartfelt condolences to her family, friends and loved ones.

I was saddened when I found out that Mrs. Alexander had made her transition but memories of her flooded my mind and I smiled.
Some of my fondest memories are of Mrs. Janetta Hicks-Alexander. Not only was she my English teacher at St. Elmo High School, she was my mentor, my confidant and my encourager. Her warm and tender smile and her soothing voice made learning fun and easy. She was beautiful inside and out, the epitome of kindness. I feel so blessed that she was an influence in my life. I truly hope that my students will have fond memories of me as I have of Mrs. Janetta Alexander.
Please accept my condolences in your loss.
