Richard Douglas House Jr.

A Memorial Service will be celebrated Thursday, September 6, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at the Asbury United Methodist Church Chapel, 101 Live Oak Blvd. in Lafayette for Richard Douglas House Jr., 57, who passed away Monday, September 3, 2018, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette. Visitation will be observed at the Asbury United Methodist Church Chapel in Lafayette on Thursday, September 6, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow in Fountain Memorial Cemetery in Lafayette. Rev. John Cannon, Senior Pastor of Asbury United Methodist Church in Lafayette, will officiate. Richard, known as "Doug," was born April 25, 1961, in New Orleans and was a long-time resident of Acadiana. He graduated from Lafayette High School in 1978 and attended USL, now UL-Lafayette, where he obtained a bachelor's degree in business. Doug worked in maintenance in the geological consulting industry. He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Lafayette. Doug was a pilot and loved to fly. He enjoyed being outdoors and hunting and fishing. Most of all, Doug loved spending time with friends and family and will be deeply missed. Doug is survived by his father, Richard Douglas House Sr. of Lafayette and numerous friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Verlie Wilkins House.
