Janice Bonnamy Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 1, 2006.
Janice Ann Bonnamy, nee Spizzirri, 58, of Cave Creek, AZ, passed away peacefully at her home on May 28, 2006 after a courageous battle with colon cancer. She was born in Chicago on Oct. 21, 1947 to Alexander and Josephine Spizzirri. Jan and her husband, Bill, moved to Arizona in 1996 from Illinois. She dedicated her life to her family and helping others. She was actively involved in her church, attending bible study classes and volunteering her time with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, The Carefree Christian Women's Club and the Lady's Guild. Janice was a valued member of Bonnamy & Associates. In addition, Jan loved cooking for her family and others, always inviting another to the table. Jan was a loyal friend and neighbor and will be missed by all that knew her. Preceded in death by infant, Joseph Bonnamy (1986), Jan is survived by her beloved husband, Bill, of 24 years; daughters, Susan (Jason) Sousa and Sandra Saflover; son, Frank; unborn grandson, Anthony Sousa; and her faithful dog, Jet. Other survivors include her loving parents, Alexander and Josephine Spizzirri; devoted sister, Mary (Richard) Delutri; sisters-in-law, Maureen Bonnamy, Lorraine Kaspar, Joanne (Jack) Lehnen, Peggy (Pete) Hartney, Nancy Duddles, Jane Bonnamy and Patricia (Mark) Loftus; mother-in-law, Evelyn Bonnamy; several aunts, uncles and cousins and too many friends to name. Our family will never forget the love and support of Janice's caregivers over the past year, especially all the Bonnamy sisters, Mary (Dick) Delutri, Sue and Sandy, Nancy (Mike) Bodziak, Marilyn (Jim) Reitz, Emlee (Pat) Kamka, Barb (Dave) Ehrhard, Carol Cassey, Nancy (Ed) Pugliese, Lorraine Wood, Pam (Pete) DiPietro, Kristin Warren, Marcy and Tom Tank and Anna. Family and friends will be received at Conboy-Westchester Funeral Home, 10501 W. Cermak Rd., Westchester (2 blks W. of Mannheim), on Friday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral Saturday at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home to Divine Infant Church for 10 a.m. Mass. HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAN ! MISS & LOVE YOU FOREVER. NINCA XOXO

May 28, 2010

I can still hear your laugh, see your smiling eyes and wish we were out shopping, having lunch. They say time heals the pain; no, it does not - just maybe dulls it, a little. Four years have passed and not a minute has gone by where you haven't been with me - I miss you so much! Someday, we'll be together again for one more hug, one more kiss and one more I Love you. I know you're waiting for me; give my love to Mom. Forever in my heart. Mary xoxo

The 3 of us.....

I have not forgotten you birthday, I just forgot to write in this guest book. I still can't believe it has already been 3 years now. Time has flown by. I miss you every day and never stop thinking about you. I talk about you to Anthony all the time and he knows that you are Grandma in Heaven. Love you always,

Time is just passing so fast; today would have been your 62nd birthday! Not an hour passes that you're not in my thoughts; words cannot express how much you are missed. My love, always. Til we can share one more hug, one more kiss and one more "I love you", you're forever in my heart!

Til we're together again for one more hug, one more kiss and one more I love you!

It seems like only yesterday we were lunching, shopping and just enjoying each others' company. Where does the time go? Your grandson is just to adorable for words and I'm sure you're smiling down on him as you are on all of us. My heart broke the day you passed and there is no way to mend it. I miss you so much Jan, but I'm glad for the time we had together. What I wouldn't give for just one more hug, one more kiss, and one more I love you! Til we see each other again - My love, always

It's hard to believe that you've been gone a year. You're missed and thought of often. Just recently, as I was stressed from a big move and unpacking, you brought a smile to my face - I had found 2 soup recipes (hand written) that you had given me. Also, I have a great photo of you and I framed that I'm thankful for and is displayed in my new family room. The boys miss you and speak fondly of you often. Love and miss you.
xoxo

Jan- you will be truly missed. You opened your arms, your home and welcomed me like family when I moved out to Arizona. You may be gone but you will not be forgotten. I still remember that "welcome to Arizona” margarita you made me when I first came out to Arizona. I will expect another one when I see you again.

And to all your family and friends I offer my deepest sympathy for our great loss. We were all lucky to have her touch our lives.
