Janice Khan Howard Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 23, 2025.
Janice Lynn Khan Howard (nee Nebelung) was born to Gwen and Donald in Minneapolis, MN on March 29, 1955. Surrounded by loved ones, she peacefully joined the angels on May 10, 2025.

During her 70 full years of life, Janice worked in hospitality, and she started Advanced Design becoming the first independent female general contractor in Minnesota, building custom homes, and until the end Janice joyously educated children with special needs.

Her adventurous spirit lead her to travel the world. A lover of music and devout in her faith in God, she sweetly sang in the choir along side her mother for decades. More than anything, Janice loved time with her family and friends.

Fun, brilliant, talented, loyal, and strong, her home and heart were open to all. Janice was curious and caring, wanting to hear everyone's story, from friends and strangers alike. Host extraordinaire, her home was welcoming to all. She cooked countless meals. Her kitchen was a place to learn and taste. Her table was a place of joy, laughter, games, fine wine and a great steak! Her warmth and generosity were unmatched, her embrace a safe harbor.

She is survived by her spouse Joe, children Ayesha, Junaid and Cole, daughter-in-law Joliesha, grandchildren Lylah, Zayan and Aryton, sister Nancy, brothers, nieces, nephews and many, many dear friends. Her smile, light and earthly presence will be missed, and felt and cherished forever.

Her services will be held at Faith United Methodist Church in St. Anthony Village, MN on May 30th: Visitation 12:30pm; Service 1:30pm; Fellowship Hour followed by Celebration of Life.

In lieu of gifts or flowers, the family kindly requests donations made to the Cole Care Fund. Cole has been hospitalized since May 8. Janice passed away three floors above him on May 10. He has a long road to recovery, physically and mentally. Janice prayed for nothing more than the health of her youngest son. Thank you and God bless.

Janice put a lot of time and energy into her work with the Union at school working on behalf of her co workers. I was grateful for her efforts.

Janice was a beautiful woman loved by all. She was a self-made woman who was a force to be reckoned with with the kindest heart. I will miss the times I spent with Janice sitting by the fire drinking wine discussing family and solving the world's problems. Rest in peace my beautiful friend. With love Felicia.
