Janice Pickrell Norman Mrs. Janice Pickrell Norman went to be with the Lord, Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009. She was employed at Univac for 16 years before her retirement in 1987. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter Smith Jr.; her mother and father, Elizabeth and Oscar Pickrell; one sister, Laura Beverly; and one grandson, David Joshua Blevins. Janice attended Liberty Baptist Church for the past four years. She is survived by her husband, Don Norman; two daughters, Cathy Melton and husband, Joe and Debbie Cross and husband, Mike; one son, Paul G. Smith and wife, Lynne; one stepson, Scott Norman and wife, Crista. She is also survived by grandchildren, Michelle Plemons and husband, Josh, Laura Miller and husband, Seth, Paige Smith, Allison Smith, Jason Cross, Adam Blevins, Anna Norman, and Brooke Norman; and one greatgrandchild, McKenzie Blevins; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Janice P. Norman will be conducted at 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009, in the Akard Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Stan Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Randall Cross, Jason Cross, Adam Blevins, Glenn Seabolt, Bobby Goforth and Charles Beverly. Visitation will be Saturday afternoon, Oct. 31, 2009, from 4-6 p.m. at the Akard Funeral Home.
