Janice Roe Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Mar. 23 to Mar. 29, 2017.
Janice Marie Roe, age 72, passed away March 11th, 2017, after a short illness.
Janice was born on February 12th, 1945, in Lodi, California to Doyle and Bertha Buttress. Janice attended Bruella Elementary and graduated from Lodi Union High School in 1962. She worked at Lakewood Drugs for 20+ years before retiring.
She is survived by her only son, Dennis Riddlesperger; daughter-in-law, Renee Riddlesperger; granddaughters, Brittany Riddlesperger, Kristie Riddlesperger; and her greatgranddaughter, Lily Anne.
She is also survived by her sister, Dolores (Nick) Spanos of Lodi; brother, David (Betty) Buttress of Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Lucy Buttress of Oklahoma; and many nieces and nephews who lovingly called her Aunt Jani.
Her family and close friends were her life. She was such a wonderful Mother, Mother- in- Law, Grandma, Greatgrandma, Sister, Aunt, and Friend.  Janice's happiest times were spent watching her granddaughters, Brittany and Kristie, compete at horse shows and every sport they were involved in. She was definitely their biggest cheerleader. She  loved  her great granddaughter, Lily, so much, who lovingly called her G.G.
She was Elvis' biggest fan and loved collecting his memorabilia which was mostly given as gifts by family and friends. She loved playing card games with family and sharing jokes with everyone.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Doyle and Bertha Buttress; three sisters, Billie Holmes of Nice, Betty Edwards of Galt, Pauline Gryder of Lodi; and her brother, Bobby Buttress of Oklahoma.
Janice will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and always laughing.
A celebration of life for Janice will be held on Saturday March 25th at 1pm for family and friends. Please call (209) 200-8181 for address.

I'm sadden to read the passing of Janice today. What a warm, kind, loving lady she was. I'm so sorry for her lost in your family. I've known Janice from early 1960's through my parents, Bill & Fay Pfeifle who would take myself & 2 brothers to Lays Restaurant, in Lockeford where Janice worked. We would be there a lot back in the day & wasn't because my Mom didn't cook. Dad owned the Standard/Chevron gas Station in Lockeford. Easier time to time to eat there, & Fred & Alice owners of Lays had great food & friendly waitresses, Janice, Delores & Sue there. I'd see Janice at Lakewood Drug store & time to time around Lodi, & always take time to talk. We'd start talking about life in general, catch up, talk about family & this & that. It was always wonderful to talk to her. I'm happy I was given the pleasure to know her in my life. My Thoughts & Prayers are with your family.

I was heartbroken when I read the paper this morning. Aunt Jan you were the sweetest, funniest, most caring person. Your larger than life laugh was contagious! May you Rest In Peace & Love....
