Janus Redmoon Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 3, 2025.
Janus Osiris Redmoon (formerly known as Donald Cook), peacefully passed away on February 10, 2025, at 1:11am, following a courageous battle with an aggressive form of bile duct cancer. He was 57 years old. Born on January 17, 1968, Janus lived a life marked by relentless passion, diverse accomplishments, and a deep commitment to uplifting those around him.

Janus began his journey inspiring others through his dedication to health and fitness, competing as a bodybuilder and working as a personal trainer in Los Angeles, where his warmth and authenticity endeared him to clients and friends alike. His dynamic nature extended to his work at Magic Flight and Trader Joe's, where he was known for his genuine care.

A true community builder, Janus co-founded the Burning Man Camp known as Red Light District, uniting vibrant communities in Los Angeles and San Diego. His dynamic presence was also felt at Fuente Eterno/Leyenda, where his influence profoundly enriched his community.

A visionary in holistic healing, Janus played a critical role in bringing plant medicine practitioners to San Diego, offering transformative paths to wellness and self-discovery.

As Founder and CEO of NuWorldNutritionals, he championed innovation in nutrition and health, helping to pioneer the psychedelic renaissance and empowering many to embrace alternatives to pharmaceuticals.

His voice carried far beyond his immediate circles-he shared his sharp wit and hard-earned wisdom as co-host of the "Stay Sparked" podcast and YouTube Channel, sparking meaningful conversations and igniting inspiration in all who listened.

For far too brief a time, Janus was a proud father to Rumi Hunter Redmoon, a role he embraced with immense love and reverence. His legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched, through kindness, his vision, and his unyielding belief in the beauty of human connection.

Janus Osiris Redmoon will be remembered as a fearless seeker, a guide, and a friend to all. His adventures, his love, and his wisdom will remain forever woven into the lives of those fortunate enough to have known him.

Janus, my friend, we miss you. You gentle giant, soft-spoken with your deep bass voice, meticulous dreads, well-kept demeanor, and your gentle-manliness.
I looked for pictures -- I know we've got some, somewhere -- from all the visits, sailing, etc. But, really, it doesn't matter. I've got a little piece of the sun you shone here in my heart.
Always grateful for you, and remembering you. May I share your merits.
Big hugs brother.

I´m so fortunate and grateful to call Janus my friend. His impact stretches far and wide. When you´re with him, you feel warm, you feel heard, you feel loved. When you listen to him, you learn, you want to be better, you are inspired. His laugh is captivating and carries you with it. He will live forever in the hearts that he touched and the rich legacy that he leaves behind.
