Jared Michael Srole

Jared´s mother was my best friend from early childhood and I still miss her terribly. I´m so sorry to have just learned of your passing and I send my heartfelt sympathy to you Bill and all of your family.

I´m very late to see this and so very sorry. I grew up with the Sroles and used to babysit Jared!! Condolences and love to all.

Jared was one of the kindest friends I´ve ever known. I was always impressed by his passion for music and endlessly entertained by his wit and sense of humor. He was exceptionally generous in sharing his time and his talents. He helped lift me up in a way that only the best of friends do. I love you and I miss you Jared.

My deepest condolences to the Srole family & friends. I'm in deep shock. Jared & myself were good friends. We met working at Barnes and Noble many years ago. He was my supervisor. We became fast friends. Jared was a brilliant mind, loyal friend who loved & adored his family so much. They were everything for him. Jared was so wonderful to be around. What a beautiful way to honor his memory. I did not know Jared, only through Bill and Becky. By reading all of these entries into the guest book, it is clear that he lived fully, the short life he had, making close friends of co-workers and enjoying being thoughtful and generous and giving to those he cared about.

Jared was a fantastic nephew. Kind. Caring. Loving. In spite of the many health issues of his own he had to deal with, he regularly called inquiring about his old uncle´s health. So selfless. And now, Jared, you are with your mom and your grandparents that you loved so much. Jared, my friend, you are dearly missed.

Jared and I are first cousins once removed, meaning his dad Bill and I are first cousins. We are all part of the large extended Rivke Family, which has been gathering regularly in the Chicago area since 1910 to celebrate our kinship and our love for one another. Even though I never got to spend much time with Jared, reading the other messages here reminded me of what a fine guy he was, a mensch in Yiddish. A friend, a partner, a colleague, a cousin, a lover and a true and devoted member of our human family. These are qualities that many may aspire to but sadly few attain. May his memory be an inspiration to all of us who he leaves behind.

The highest honor I can pay to Jared is that he was first and foremost a mensch. The meaning of this word is deep and it applies to every facet of Jared's life. Jared left a trail of mitzvahs (good deeds) behind him because of the man he was. All his colleagues can attest to that. His gift of life to others was his final mitvah. Our lives are better for having known him. - May his memory be a blessing.
