Jared Taylor Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 13, 2024.
Jared "Jerry" Martin Taylor was a resident of Rice Lake WI, Eden Prairie, MN and Sand Lake, WI. He passed after a brief illness on April 16, 2024 with his family by his side. He was 91 years old.

The only child of Marshall Emerick TAYLOR and Maurine Andrea BERG Taylor, he was born on October 24,1932 in Cameron, Barron County, WI.

He was born during the Depression. In 1938, his family drove from Wisconsin to California seeking work. His father found a job at the US Gypsum Board Plant in Midland, CA a desert town. They worked, lived and Jared went to school for 5 years.

In February 1944, after his Fathers unexpected early death, Jared and his Mother returned to their hometown of Barron WI. He attended Barron Schools and was a star on the High School basketball team until his graduation in 1950.

In 1952 he enlisted in the Navy and was the HONOR MAN of his company. In Paris, France as a driver at the US Army Headquarters for the military VIP's he met and married the love of his life, Jeannick PARISET in 1956. In 1957 he was honorably discharged, returning to Barron, WI with his wife and daughter.

After discharging from military service, his family settled in Rice Lake, WI where he worked for GTE for many years. Later in his career, he was transferred to the Twin Cities and moved to Eden Prairie, MN where he and his wife lived for many years. He decided to take early retirement and bought a cabin on Sand Lake in NW Wisconsin where they spent their summers enjoying life.

Always curious, he loved to figure out how things worked and with his creative imagination he was an inventor at heart. He also had a wonderful sense of humor, loved by many and was a true friend. He will be missed.

Jared is preceded in death by his Parents and wife Jeannick who passed in 2018. He is survived by his 4 children, Jennifer Taylor Henderson (Garry) of Gary IN, Veronique McMillan (John) of Tonka Bay MN, Jacques Taylor (Joii) of Winder GA, Patrick Taylor (Karen) of Cumberland WI and 5 grandchildren Riley Henderson (Amanda) and Lily McNally (Greg) both of IL, Jared Taylor (Abby), Kristina Taylor (Jake), Anna Taylor all of WI, and cousins Betty Blihovde (Ron) of Barron, WI & Charles "Chuck" Conrad of Silver Bay, MN.

His ashes are interred with his wife and our dear mother, Jeannick Taylor at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI. A Private family memorial will take place. In lieu of flowers, do something kind for someone and ask that they pass it on.

I first met Jared when he purchased two lots from my grandparents and I was riding my horses back to the lake and talked to Jared and enjoyed our conversations.

Although I was 10 years younger then
cousin Jerry when he and his mother lived with us I have many wonderful memories of him, like the time he put a battery, lawn mower I think on his bike and rode to Poskin.
All went well until he hit a patch of gravel and wiped out.
He was a jokester like the time he put a smoke bomb under the hood of his car and had my brother start the car. Of course that made the bomb go off and poor Chuck thought he blew the car up.
Many more great memories that make me smile.
I miss our monthly calls to each other.
He was a great cousin, more like a big brother to Chuck and me.

We were blessed to have had Jerry and Jeannick as neighbors...after Jeannick passing we enjoyed Jerry at the house for a fish fry and would bring caramels at Christmas...always enjoyed catching up with him
