Unexpectedly at the age of 27 on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at his home in Ottawa as a result of a brain aneurysm. Jason will be missed with broken hearts by his mom Jackie, nee Settle (John Laurienzo), his father Paul (Reni Mansfield), his brother Daryl, his sisters Jessica and Megan Laurienzo, and his grandfather Darryl. Jason is going to be missed by aunts, uncles, many cousins, and friends. He is predeceased by his sister Marie, and his grandparents, Maxene and John Settle and Theresa Buckle. Jason was an incredible athlete, coach and accomplished wrestler. After graduating from St. Jean de Brebeuf, he obtained his degree in Kinesiology at McMaster University. Most recently, graduating from Teacher's College at the University of Ottawa. He was a teacher who always knew how to make every learning experience a memorable one. He had a beautiful smile and contagious laugh that would fill every room he entered. Due to COVID restrictions, a private family service will be held. Family and friends can live stream the service on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 10 a.m. by visiting Jason's page at www.dermodys.com. In lieu of flowers, the family requests those who wish to express sympathy, and honour Jason's life, to consider making a donation to the Wrestling Program at McMaster University, which can be done by visiting www.dermodys.com

My condolences to his friends and family. Jason was my sons' teacher and I had the pleasure of watching him teach during the few weeks of virtual learning. He always had the kids engaged and had an incredibly contagious smile. The school is mourning his loss and he will never be forgotten.
