Jason Caley Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 5, 2010.
Jason Edward Caley was born in Vancouver , British Columbia and raised in Burnaby where he attended school. After graduation he continued on to BCIT where he received his certification to become a boiler maker. While traveling for work Jason found himself in Campbell River where he met his soul mate Shara. They settled in and were raising their three children together. Jason loved the outdoors and sports such as skiing, swimming, camping, hiking. Jason enjoyed lots of backyard grilling over the fire pit! On many occasions you could find Jason tubing down the river or fishing at Echo Lake with Shara and the kids, (and anyone else they could persuade to join them!) Jason was actively involved in the Cub Scouts and was an Adventure Scout Leader. Jason packed more living into 36 years than some people manage in twice that time. It was with tremendous sadness that Jason's loved ones said their final goodbye's. On December 30, 2009, after a short, heartfelt battle with cancer, Jason passed away peacefully with his family by his side. Jason is survived by his wife Shara, and his children Cody, Kyla, and Kirsten.
Also left to mourn are Jason's parents Joe and Hazel Caley. He is also survived by his sister Alison (Willy) Cuvier, and sister-in-law Kristy, (Dave) Desmarais
He will be deeply missed by many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews and many friends.
We would like to send a special thank you to Dr. Kerry Baerg and all of the caregivers including hospital nurses, homecare nurses, and friends and family that gave so generously their time and love through Jason's illness.
Services for Jason will be held at 1:00pm, January 7, 2010 at the Thunderbird Hall, 1420 Weiwaikum Rd. Campbell River. Cremation will take place immediately after the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cancer Lodge, 2202 Richmond Avenue, Victoria, BC V8R 4R5
