Jason Dahl

Jason "JD" Dahl was born Sept. 2, 1977, in Portland. He left this earth to fly into heaven April 4, 2016, after a tragic helicopter crash during a routine flight in Tennessee. Growing up in Hillsboro, he attended Brookwood Ele- mentary School, J.B. Thomas Middle School and Hillsboro High School "Hilhi." Jason graduated from Hilhi in 1995 and attended college at the University of Oregon. Jason was part of the percussion section in the marching band at both Hilhi and UO. Jason would say "Go Ducks!". He spent a short time living in Chicago and Denver. He was always excited to share outdoor adventures with his family and girlfriend of five years, Tessa Ashford. In 2014, he and Tessa moved to Tennessee to pursue his dream of becoming a helicopter pilot. A celebration of his life will be at 1 p.m Saturday, April 23, 2016, at Hillsboro Presbyterian Church, Hillsboro. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made at the GoFundMe page Flying High in Remembrance of "JD." Preceding Jason in death was his dad, Robert "Bob" Dahl. Survivors include his mom, Grace "Tracie" Dahl; sister, Kimberly "Kimi" Dahl; girlfriend, Tessa Ashford; and half-brother, Tom Dahl.
