Jason Roberts

Jason "Bird" Roberts, 42, of Owensboro, Kentucky died Monday, April 22, 2013, at Owensboro Health. He was born January 13, 1971 in Owensboro. He was employed as a crane operator for Aleris. He was a Christian, who loved his wife and three sons, and adored his grandsons. Bird will surely be missed by his numerous friends, because he never met a stranger. Even after his death he helped others as an organ donor. He enjoyed Nascar racing, UK basketball, and the Washington Redskins. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Shannon Roberts; sons, Phillip Roberts, Austin Roberts (Kaitlyn), and Josh Roberts all of Owensboro; grandsons, Brayden and Lincoln; his mother Bev Mattingly of Owensboro; his father, Filmore Roberts (Donna) of Owensboro; two brothers, Troy Roberts and J. P. Russell (Tori) both of Owensboro; a sister, Ginger Roberts of Owensboro and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Services are 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2013, at the Chapel of James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro with Rev. Wes Roberts officiating. Burial is in Yellow Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Thruston, KY. Visitation is from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday and after 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
