Myrtle Burdine

Myrtle Lee Sparks Burdine, 91, of 1200 Holly Bush Road, wife of the late Mason "Jack" Burdine, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2001, at Palmetto Baptist Medical Center.

Born in Anderson County, a daughter of the late Austin and Sally Plumley Sparks. Mrs. Burdine retired from Sir Shirt Maker, after which she was employed with Piedmont Industries. She was a member of Cedar Rock Baptist Church, where she was also a member of the ABC Sunday School Class, the Thelma Tollison WMU Group and the Young At Heart Club.

Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph Mason "Joe" and Gertrude Burdine, J.B. and Judy Burdine, and Tommy and Teresa Burdine, all of Easley; three daughters, Rose Nabors, Wilma Burdine, and Margaret Richardson and her husband, Edward, all of Easley; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Mrs. Burdine was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia Burdine.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Cedar Rock Baptist Church, with the Rev. Bobby Goodwin, the Rev Bobby Caldwell, and the Rev. David Case officiating. Burial will be held at the church cemetery.

The body is at Robinson Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. tonight, and will be placed in the church at 2:30 p.m. Friday.
